General

1What is the difference between the EuroGravel PLUS and PRO?
The EuroGravel PLUS is perfect for any garden: for ornamental or decorative use, or as a pavement or a driveway to a house. The PLUS is strong enough for everyday use, making the PLUS better value than the PRO. The EuroGravel PRO are extremely strong panels that can even be driven over by lorries, making them ideal for car parks which are often driven over.
2What's the advantage of EuroGravel compared to conventional gravel stabilisation systems?
EuroGravel gravel stabilisation grids have water permeable weed control membrane that prevents weed growth from the bottom. The hexagonal cell structure of the grids consists of compact cells with solid walls which make the grids able to withstand very heavy loads. The EuroGravel stabilisation grid is an ultra strong system which distinguishes itself from other stabilisation systems because of the very high load resistance, both filled as unfilled. You can even drive over the grids with a truck!
3Where can I buy EuroGravel gravel stabilisation grids?
EuroGravel grids are available at a large number of dealers in paving materials in the Netherlands and Belgium, please contact us for your nearest dealer.
4How do I cut EuroGravel grids to size?
You can easily cut the panels with a handsaw for wood. For poles you can make openings. To make round, free shapes you can easily cut it with a jigsaw.
5A gravel surface with EuroGravel stabilisation grids is low-maintenance. What does this mean?
Compared to a gravel surface without EuroGravel stabilisation the gravel surface needs less maintenance. The gravel won't dissapear in the foundation, which otherwise could happen. Leveling, frequent raking and refilling the gravel is not regularly required. To avoid pollution of the gravel surface you should regularly remove fallen leaves. To remove moss and dirt, you can rake the top layer regularly. During prolonged heavy use by vehicles the honeycomb structure can become visible, when this happens you have to refill the toplayer.

Installing

1How do I connect the grids?
There is no connection system needed, as the panels can be placed directly on the sub layer one by one. The geotextile overlaps around the edges.
2How much gravel do I need to fill EuroGravel grids?
You will need about 1 m3 of gravel/chippings per 20 m2.
3How thick should the gravel layer be?
Te grids will be filled with a layer of 3 cm, on top of that the grid will be covered with a layer of 2-3 cm. In totall it's a layer of 5-6 cm.
4What kinds of gravel are suitable to use in the EuroGravel grids?
For decorative use with light loads all kinds of gravel are suitable, as long as the size is minimal 5mm and maximal 25mm (chippings 20mm). For heavy loaded surfaces it's important to choose a type of gravel that is hard enough. Pebbles are more likely to roll inside the grids but can be more pleasant to walk on because of it's round shape. Chippings are more solid, that's why they are slightly better to use on surfaces that are regularly used by heavy loaded vehicles.
5Do I need lawn edging when I'm using EuroGravel stabilisation grids?
Usage of lawn edging is recommended so the gravel is more firmly established at the edges.
